Share Fire Chief
Welcome to the website of Douglas County Fire District No. 2. I've had the pleasure of working for this progressive organization since July 2004. April 19. 2011, I was promoted to Fire Chief replacing retired Fire Chief Michael Hansen. While I am Fire Chief, the Fire District will focus on providing professional, cost effective emergency and customer services that meets the needs of the customers of the Fire District. The Fire District will accomplish this through a team of well-trained and equipped personnel who will respond in a timely and efficient manner. The goal of each response team is to assist all customers with any situation that they on their own could not handle. It is with great pride that I serve with the dedicated professionals that provide these services to you. The Fire District has a high quality workforce who performs multiple tasks and has earned it's excellent reputation through producing quality results.
Greg Marlar
Biography Greg joined Douglas County Fire District No. 2 as a Division Chief in July 2004. He was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief in November 2007. Greg was recently promoted to Interim Fire Chief to replace the retiring Fire Chief Michael Hansen. Greg holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program administered through the National Fire Academy. Greg plans on pursuing his Masters Degree in the near future.
Greg is an appointed member on the State of Oregon EMS Committee as well as the State of Oregon Discipline and Certification Committee. He also is an appointed member of the Douglas County EMS Committee which oversees the local ambulance service areas in Douglas County. Greg is also involved in numerous committees and organizations throughout the community including serving as current President of the Roseburg High School Booster Club. Greg is a member of both the Oregon and International Fire Chief Associations.
In his spare time, Greg enjoys spending time with his family, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, running and bicycling. He also enjoys competing in half and full marathons. Greg is also a baseball enthusiast and plans on visiting every major league ballpark at some point. Questions, Comments |
